Business Development and Community Services Essential Skills Upgrading (ESU) Supply Instructors The Toronto District School Board invites applications for the position of supply instructor for the Essential Skills Upgrading (ESU) Program. Essential Skills Upgrading (ESU) is a program for adults whose literacy skills range from Grade 1 to Grade 9.  It focuses on the development of reading, writing, numeracy and basic computer skills. The program is funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. ESU classes are held during the day and evening in various locations throughout Toronto. Qualifications: demonstrated experience instructing adults using current adult literacy principles and practices. demonstrated ability to instruct numeracy to the Grade 9 level, including basic operations, fractions, decimals, measurement and beginning algebra/geometry demonstrated ability to integrate digital technology into literacy and numeracy instruction familiarity with the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework post-secondary degree in a related field excellent command of oral and written English successful completion of a certificate program in Adult Education an asset Resumes and covering letters, indicating preferred work location (north, east, south or west), must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday August 31, 2018  to: Toronto District School Board, Staffing Administrator, Employee Services - Unit B, 4th Floor, 5050 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario, M2N 5N8.    Fax: 416-397-3519.
