Welcome! In support of our slack group #regionalcollaboration

Dear Members of MTML,

We have always been pleased to be your information sharing hub.  As the complexities of managing email have increased for both our members and our team, we are asking your cooperation to experiment with two communication vehicles:

1.  Our on-line collaboration tool called "slack":  If you haven't joined us already, and would like to collaborate with our MTML, Toronto members, and York/Bradford members, please email us at literacy.mtml@gmail.com to get set up. This is a private group for MTML and members, not publically availalbe.

2.  This  blog called "Regional Collaboration with MTML":  For those members who are unable to use slack to share items directly with the group, we will share them here.

Next steps:

a.  We welcome your comments/questions/feedback - here in the comments - or on slack!

b.  If you are already receiving this info via slack, please email us at literacyinfo@mtml.ca to remove yourself from this mailing list.

Thanks for experimenting with us!
The MTML team

Dear friends and partners of MTML,

Please join me in welcoming on board Michelle Ransom as the new Executive Director of MTML.

Spring is a time for regeneration and so I'm excited about the possibilities which a new ED, a strong Board, reliable office/operational support, and several potential funding opportunities, mean for MTML in our commitment to support and collaborate with our service providers and network partners.

Thank you all for your support during this extended period of transition. My message is followed by a personal greeting from Michelle.

Warm regards,
Tammie Orifa
Board President, MTML

Thank you for the warm welcome and good first week, Tammie and the MTML team.  I look forward to working with you and our broader community to achieve MTML's mission of advocating for adult learners, collaborating with our network and service-provider partners, engaging other stakeholders, and more!

This is an exciting next step for me, as I am a volunteer with the University Hospital Network and Health Quality Ontario on health literacy projects and have an interest in women’s financial literacy related to international economic development. I am delighted to contribute to literacy work more broadly in this role.  Professionally, I have over 20 years of experience in Canada, the US and Europe, across the sectors.  My project management and change management skills help me lead operational improvement and organizational transformation projects.  I have managed budgets up to $6m on initiatives that impacted thousands of employees and stakeholders.  For more information on my professional background, click here.

To help me understand the landscape and context, would you consider giving me your insights?
What have we missed?  What are YOUR thoughts for us to include in our planning for the year?  Our stakeholder engagement and communication plans will certainly include more opportunities to collaborate, but in the meantime, please click the link, https://goo.gl/forms/AdiIMTFxq11awtOm2  to be directed to a Google form where we invite you to share YOUR thoughts.
Thanks for your continued support as we work towards being an exemplary Support Organization in service to you.
With gratitude,
Michelle Ransom
Executive Director, Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy (MTML)
