Planning conversations reveal trend of mental health difficulties

Michelle [11:22 AM]

Our planning conversations have brought up the trend of more and more learners facing mental health challenges. Practitioners are looking for training and tools.  I have met with Jesse of the Toronto Writers Collective, and attended a creative writing workshop where people are encouraged to have a voice.  This may help - both with writing skills and feeling like each of us matters.  Training session in Dec:

VOLUNTEER TO LEAD CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOPS

with the Toronto Writers' Collective:  Dec 7,8,9, The training is a full weekend: Friday from 7 to 10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 PM.  Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the TWC to facilitate a writing workshop as part of the Toronto Writers Collective’s creative writing workshops. We provide creative writing workshops throughout the GTA to underserved communities. By creating a community of writers from all economic backgrounds, races, ages and sexual orientations, we encourage people to gain confidence and a stronger sense of self, find and expand their voices and discover the value of their own stories.
